this ant8 project consists of 3 crops of 6 images. (24
images total.) for the first image, i setup some basic object-stuff in my
living room, put the camera on the floor, opened the shutter and locked it
with the wired remote switch. the camera was heavy enough to balance the
lens i was using. i rotated the focus from 16mm to 35mm, as smoothly as i
could, and closed the shutter at 27.50seconds. with the second image, i
mounted the camera at an angle towards the kitchen, opened the shutter and
locked it with the wired remote switch. used the 16-35 again, rotated the
focus tighter, as smoothly as i could, and closed the shutter after 9.8
seconds. with the rest of the images, i experimented with patterns of
zooming in and out over various durations, speeds and with different light
amounts. the effect is similar to 'feedback' filters in digital graphics
editors, but they lack the random smooth to roughness that my hand had and
the digital clarity of the full image is astounding. like, with image
2.4.0, i found a technique that will duplicate an object without leaving
light-streaks between the two instances. i tried that same technique with
a person and it came out great. click
here to see it. and i also used the simple technique from the first
set in another image. click
here to see it. when i was looking at the original 6 images on my pc,
i was zooming in and out (the orig images are 4992x3328 pixels) and i
immediately saw a few pics that i could get from cropping. i've put the 6
main images on the left and when you click one, you'll see that image
displayed here with the 3 cropped pieces above and highlighted on the main
image. clicking the image at the top will display that image in this
section.
